Welcome Message From the Chair
Welcome to the Einstein Medical Center Montgomery Diagnostic Radiology Residency program!
I am privileged to welcome you for two reasons. First, it is an honor to introduce you to this residency, the newest diagnostic radiology residency in the greater Philadelphia area. And secondly for me personally, it is a true honor to lead this new residency alongside the Program Director Dr. Brooke Devenney, as the new Chair of Radiology.
Under the leadership of my distinguished colleague and predecessor, Terence A. S. Matalon, MD, FACR, FSIR, the Radiology Department has realized advances in clinical practices, education, and technology that have positioned us for future success in the rapidly changing healthcare environment.
The new Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Einstein Montgomery draws from a rich tradition of training residents in the art and science of radiology that spans over 50 years. Here you will find faculty whose focus is on educating the next generation of radiologists, in preparation for either an academic career or a private practice setting. The experience and education that you receive here at Einstein will be the core that serves as an exceptional foundation as you begin your radiology career.
The Einstein Department of Radiology has a long history of residents presenting at national societies including RSNA, ARRS, and other national organizations, aided by engaged faculty interested in supporting these efforts. As leaders in development of quality and safety initiatives and clinical implementation of artificial intelligence, there is ample opportunity to be engaged in research in these areas as well as other disciplines in radiology. Part of your residency training here at Einstein Montgomery includes a comprehensive healthcare economics program run in conjunction with the ACR Radiology Leadership Institute that will help you prepare for the realities of the business side of radiology. Sometimes overlooked, this aspect of radiology is critical to understand as a new radiologist practicing medicine.
This is truly an exciting time for our department, and I invite you to reach out to our current residents, faculty, as well as myself to learn more and to see for yourself what we offer here at Einstein.
Ryan K. Lee, MD, MBA
Chair, Department of Diagnostic Radiology
