Class of 2025

Hometown: Petrolina, Pernambuco, Brazil
Undergraduate Education: Universidade Federal do Vale do Sao Francisco - UNIVASF
Medical School: Universidade Federal do Vale do Sao Francisco - UNIVASF
Interests: I love road tripping; I traveled a lot in Brazil with my family and in the USA. We had the opportunity to drive from Utah to Pennsylvania by car. I also love outdoor activities and spending time with my family. Philadelphia has beautiful places to visit, a variety of museums and historical places. During the summer we are also able to enjoy the beautiful beaches in New Jersey.

Bio: My parents always taught the importance of family, education and hard work. I am married and have a lovely 6-year-old son, and being a mother is one of the best things that happened to me along with my love for medicine.

After my graduation in Brazil, I was able to work in primary care in Sao Paulo and I worked with underserved populations. One of my favorite things about working there, was being part of a health care community with various team members including nurses, dentists, pharmacists, and social workers. We worked together planning strategies to improve patient's lives by providing patient education and preventive medicine. I also loved to spend time with my patients and building connections with them in the areas that they reside, visiting their homes, local schools, and community centers. That's when my passion for family medicine started.

In the United States, before residency, I had the opportunity to volunteer at a free clinic as a patient technician and Portuguese interpreter which was a great opportunity to learn, help and support the community where I lived. I have chosen Family Medicine at Einstein medical Center Philadelphia because I like the diversity of our population which is also reflected in the residence program with residents from all over the world. The program has the concern with inclusion and high-quality education. I felt at home since day one in residency, the program gives us support in everything that we need to have an excellent training to be great physicians.

Hometown: Chicago, IL

Graduate School: Davenport University

Interests: I enjoy spending time with family and friends, listening to podcasts, attending festivals, and traveling.

Bio: I was born in Egypt to Pakistani parents and grew up in Illinois from a young age. Growing up, my parents have been my biggest inspiration to pursue studies in medicine. During my interview at Einstein Medical Center, I loved how welcoming the faculty were and I was drawn to the resident driven culture this program offered. There is a wonderful support system and atmosphere here and the faculty makes time to guide and mentor you. I wanted to be a part of the care that advocates for patients, community health, and health equity. Being a large academic center with a diverse patient base makes Einstein the best place for me to learn and grow as a physician. Moreover, Philadelphia and surrounding areas are fun and relaxed places to live. I hope to make a real impact in the world, help improve the human condition, and address inequalities after completing residency at Albert Einstein Healthcare Network.

I am excited to practice all aspects of medicine, from preventive care to pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology, adults, geriatrics, palliative care, and clinic-based procedures. I can guide patients throughout their lives and develop meaningful physician-patient relationship that can lead to their improved health and wellbeing. Einstein is a program that provides me cutting-edge training and is dedicated to resident education. It is rewarding to work with a diverse socioeconomic population in outpatient city/suburban areas and inpatient medicine.
