We welcome applications from physicians who have completed a residency program (ACGME or AOA accredited) in any of the sponsoring specialties for Hospice and Palliative Medicine: Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Neurology, Psychiatry, Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:

Be board-certified (or board-eligible with intention to complete board certification) in their primary specialty.

Demonstrate commitment to practicing hospice and palliative medicine in their future clinical work.
- Though no formal research or quality improvement background is required, applicants should demonstrate interest in the role of palliative care in transforming access to high-quality serious illness care in the community. Some examples of interests that would satisfy this requirement include (but are not limited to):

Population health management
-
Community engagement and/or education
-
Quality and performance improvement
-
Healthcare economics and policy
-
Improving access to advanced care planning
Applications are accepted via ERAS. We participate in the NRMP’s December Fellowship Match, with interviews scheduled in the fall. A complete application will include:

A CV and personal statement describing the applicant’s interest in HPM
- Three letters of reference, one of whom is from the applicant's residency program director or associated program director. If the applicant has been in independent practice for over one year, a letter from the chief or service or department chair can replace the program director's letter.

A USMLE and/or ECFMG transcript
