Meet the Residents



Yee Seul Chun, DDS - Class of 2022
Yee Seul Chun grew up in Annapolis, Maryland. She graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2016 and then completed her General Practice Residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. She was an instructor at Johns Hopkins and practiced general dentistry in private practice for two years before joining the Orthodontic Residency at Einstein Medical Center. On her time off, Yee Seul still enjoys hanging out by the water and enjoying a good crab cake!



Mordy Fried, DMD - Class of 2023
Originally hailing from Brooklyn, NY, Mordy Fried has lived in the Philly area (both in the city and suburbs) for the past 10 years. He first came to the city of brotherly love for his Bachelor's degree and subsequently obtained a Master's degree in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He then attended Penn Dental where he was involved in community outreach and research. He loves trying new things and is always looking for life hacks. He likes playing basketball, traveling, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.



Michael Kotecki, DDS - Class of 2022
Michael Kotecki grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. He attended Duke University where he majored in Biomedical Engineering and was a member of the Track and Field team as a high jumper. After graduating from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in 2016 he served as a Captain in the United States Army as a general dentist at Fort Benning, Georgia. In his free time, he enjoys basketball, golf, and traveling with his wife Alexandra.



Justin Middleberg, DMD - Class of 2023
Justin Middleberg grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia.  He attended Penn State University and majored in Biological Science with a Health Profession Option.  During his Junior year, he spent the semester abroad in Barcelona, Spain.  He attended Dental School at Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry.  Justin enjoys traveling and photography as well as attending sporting events and live music shows.



Madeline Pitz, DDS - Class of 2023
Madeline is from Queens, New York. She received her BS in Biology from St. John's University and attended NYU College of Dentistry where she participated in a dual-degree program. There, she received an Advanced Certificate of Public Health in addition to her DDS.  Throughout her undergraduate dental education, she held leadership roles in class council and educational roles as a teaching assistant and tutor.  She began her post-graduate training by completing a General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center prior to joining Einstein Orthodontics.  Madeline enjoys all things beauty and fashion, cooking, yoga, and oat milk lattes. She is also eagerly awaiting Broadway's return!



Gannon Van Allen, DDS - Class of 2022
Gannon Van Allen grew up in East Tennessee.  He majored in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Tennessee (Go Vols!).  He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry.  Following dental school, he served four years in the U.S. Navy. He was stationed in South Carolina, Virginia, and briefly deployed to Guatemala and Honduras.   After serving in the Navy, he began his orthodontic training at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. In his free time, Gannon enjoys long distance running, exploring the outdoors with his wife, and woodworking.
