The Einstein Center for Clinical Competency features state-of-the-art medical simulation technology to enhance the quality of training for all network employees.
The Simulation Center provides high-fidelity interprofessional simulation education for a wide variety of acute care medical center environments. The simulated practice environments provide students with an opportunity to practice clinical and teamwork skills in a safe, controlled setting, ultimately improving patient safety.
The mission of the EHN Simulation Center is to utilize innovative teaching tools and strategies to enhance the learning experience for all EHN healthcare professionals, improve patient safety, and promote educational excellence through the application of evidence-based medicine.
A High-Tech Facility for Learning Clinical Competency
The Center features a full line of high-fidelity neonatal, pediatric, obstetric and adult Gaumard simulators that accurately depict a wide variety of physiological states and responses. High-fidelity Gaumard simulators available to benefit all EHN employee's educational experience include:
- HAL Advanced Multipurpose Adult Simulator (S3201)
- HAL Advanced Life Support & Emergency Care Simulator (S1000)
- Pediatric HAL
- Super Tory Neonatal Simulator
- Victoria Maternal Simulator
The Simulation Center’s fleet of high-fidelity simulation equipment and task trainers are used in healthcare scenarios that range from evaluating basic psychomotor skills to complex crisis resource patient management scenarios.
State-of-the-art digital recording is also available for all simulation activities, which provides the opportunity for educators to review technical skills, identify variations in clinical practice and evaluate team performance for high acuity, low occurrence events.
Providing Hands-On Experience for Varied Educational Purposes
The Simulation Center continues to work with the Einstein's Office of Academic Affairs to improve physician, nursing and all EHN employee's learning experiences by enabling them to keep pace with evidence-based best practices in healthcare education. The Simulation Center also offers a large classroom with state-of-the-art technology, a multi-purpose conference room and lounge area featured in an attractive contemporary setting.
