The Office of Research and Technology Development (ORTD) offers support services for researchers within the Albert Einstein Healthcare Network (AEHN). The ORTD staff provides guidance and assistance with research endeavors, intellectual property, budget development, and contract negotiation. The staff is also responsible for facilitating submissions and providing support to the AEHN Institutional Review Board.

The Director of the ORTD, Mary Klein, PhD is the Organization Official with signatory authority. She is responsible for oversight of the ORTD activities as described above, as well as the Albert Einstein Healthcare Network (AEHN) Human Research Protection Program (HRPP).

Dr. Klein can be reached via phone at 215-456-7215 or via email at Mary.Klein2@jefferson.edu.

It is an institutional expectation that a proposal must be submitted to the ORTD for any research activities intended to be carried out at any of the Einstein Network facilities or that will use Einstein Network resources to ensure that all applicable regulations, laws and policies/procedures are considered. Prior to initiating any of the associated activities, the responsible researcher must receive written feedback indicating the protocol can be pursued within the Network or utilizing Network resources.
